I had actually never heard of Ning prior to reading this article, but I find the concept really interesting on an educational level. I like the idea of having more control over what your page looks like, compared to facebook. Also, I like the idea that my students aren't as familiar with it so it could be used more with educational applications to meet the needs of my classroom (at least initially), and with the control over the network it seems like I would be able to establish parameters of who could see our material and what we used it for. I am looking forward to learning more about Ning and finding useful ways to use it in my class next year.

I also had never heard of Ning before reading our assignment, but it seems like something I would be able to use with my classroom parents and students without the distraction of Facebook or Myspace.
