Creative Commons

After reading the EDUCAUSE article, 7 Things You Should Know about Creative Commons, I had a wide range of thoughts. I felt that the article did a good job summarizing the main ideas of creative commons in a short passage. However, I still feel that there are so many small details of Creative Commons that I find confusing. I always am nervous using sources I find online for grad school work, as well as projects for my classroom. I am afraid that although it is listed as able to be used, I am going to use it somehow I am not supposed to. I find myself more comfortable using these Creative Commons licensed items as I work with them more often, however I do still find some of the descriptions of use confusing. I hope that I continue to get more comfortable and familiar with these "rules" as I go through this course.

New Class!

New class....here we go!

Our school went to a balanced calendar this year, so we are starting our last week of school this week! I am so ready for some time to take a deep breath, however when I saw this post on my RSS feed today I was already starting to think about how I could use it in the fall. (We start August 12, so it's really not that far away!)

Google Forms Now Easier to Print!

My feed for free technology for teachers showed me this link, and I thought it would be great for next year. I really wanted to use google forms on my parent night to collect parent information, but also wanted an easy way to get the form to parents who couldn't make it. Since many of our parents don't have internet access at home this will make it much easier to send home for parents who cannot come to our parent night open house. It will also be great for using it in class if I want to print copies of quizzes I create on google forms to send home for absent students, or to give a copy to my dean to track my assessments. I am glad they are updating google forms to accommodate this need! One less thing to worry about in the fall :)
